Section I - How Do I.....

Get the NCS App?

The NCS app is an incredibly helpful resource for all parents. From weekly homework and lesson plans to gradebook info, lunch menus, and a student directory, you’ll have all of Northlake at your fingertips. Simply search for “Northlake Christian School” in your phone or tablet’s app store.

Before attempting to log-in to the app, be sure that you have already created a FACTS account - this should have been done during the application/enrollment process. Use the same username and password that you created to access FACTS during that process. (If prompted, the district code is NL-LA).

Set up a lunch account for my student?
Lunch is purchased using a prepaid account through FACTS, the school’s student information system. To fund your student’s lunch account, log into the NCS app (see above) and tap ‘Financials.’ In the box titled ‘Prepay Accounts,’ tap ‘Add Funds.’ Select the ‘Cafeteria’ account, and then follow the prompts to complete the transaction. Cafeteria funds are shared among family members, so if you have multiple students, their purchases will all be paid by the same prepaid account.

View the lunch menu?
Lunch menus are published monthly and are available in the principals' weekly newsletters. The menu is also available on the Northlake app.

Purchase uniforms?
The Wolverine WearHouse is open July 1st through the end of the school year for all of your uniform and spirit wear needs! Families are encouraged to make a 30 minute uniform fitting appointment for each student in July, ensuring that each student gets all of the items needed to start the school year right! Please click here to schedule your summer appointment. For students starting at a different time of year, appointments are not necessary. Simply stop by the WearHouse Mon, Wed, or Fri between 7:45am and 3:30pm. (Questions about the uniform policy? Please see pages 4-5 of the  Student Handbook, linked at the footer of this page.)

Arrange bus transportation?
If you are interested in the Mandeville/Madisonville/Covington bus route, please contact
Mr. Matt Blair for information on bus stops and times.
Bus route rate:

One rider: $1,600 round trip or $1,000 one way, per student, per year

(billed in 2 installments: August & January)

Receive my child's MacBook? (secondary families only)
New secondary students will receive their MacBook when they attend ‘New Student Tech Bootcamp.’ 90-minute sessions are held throughout the summer. Sign up for available sessions is on a first come, first served basis.

Get carline stickers? (elementary families only)

NCS uses the PikMyKid app to assist with carline efficiency. New families of elementary students will receive their carline decals in the mail over the summer. Each child is assigned a specific carline number, so families with multiple elementary students will receive multiple numbers. Please affix your carline decal(s) to the lower, passenger side windshield of your vehicle. If you need additional decals, please contact the Elementary Office.

Register for extended care?
Before care and after care are available for Pre-K4 - 6th grade students. Before care begins at 6:45am, and after care ends at 5:30pm. Extended care is also available after school only for 7th & 8th graders and is required for students who are not able to be picked up by the end of afternoon carline. Jr. high extended care also ends at 5:30pm.

The cost for before care is $500 per year, and the after care cost is $1,300 per year (billed in 2 installments - Aug. & Jan.). Pre-registration is required. Extended Care is not available on an as-needed basis. The fee for children picked up after 5:30pm will be an additional $25.00.

Parents must register children for the first semester before the beginning of the school year. Click here to register, and contact the Business Office with any questions.

Elementary School Hours: 8:00am - 3:00pm
Secondary School Hours: 7:50am - 3:10pm
Morning carline begins at 7:30am and afternoon carline ends at 3:30pm.

Receive summer assignments, supply lists, teacher assignments/schedules, etc?
The ELC, elementary, and secondary principals send regular newsletters to all enrolled families with details on everything you’ll need to know before the first day of school. Please check your email frequently and make sure we have your preferred email address on file so you won’t miss a thing!

Summer assignments and supply lists are included in the principals’ monthly summer newsletters:
Elementary summer newsletter
Secondary summer assignments

Elementary students will receive their homeroom teacher assignments at “Meet the Teacher” day in early August. Secondary students (and parents) will receive their schedules mid-summer.

Review the student handbook?
Northlake's student handbook includes details on uniform and attendance policies, behavior expectations, cell phone policies, academic overtime (secondary only), and the school's mission, vision, and statement of faith. A link to the student handbook can be found in the footer section at the bottom of every page of this website.

Connect with the school nurse?
Northlake's school nurse has access to the medical information you provided in your enrollment packet. However, if your student has an allergy or specific medical condition that requires our attention, please do not hesitate to reach out by phone (985-635-0505) or email. If you would like grant permission for Nurse Tanya to administer over-the-counter medicines to your child if needed (Tylenol, Tums, ibuprofen, etc.) please contact her to complete a consent form.

Get Involved?
We love our Northlake families! We welcome and encourage parents and grandparents to get involved in any number of ways! Become an elementary room mom, cook a favorite dish to share at a teacher appreciation luncheon, assist with campus clean-up days, chaperone a field trip, volunteer to work a special event, play in the golf tournament, sign up to help with ticket sales or concessions, join the Booster Club, attend a weekly chapel service - these are just a few of the opportunities available! For more information on how to get involved, please reach out to your child's administrative office or contact the admissions office.

NCS has won numerous district and state championships over the years, and outstanding Wolverine athletes frequently earn the opportunity to compete at the regional, state, and even national level. Though the success of the school’s athletic programming is remarkable, what stands out even more is how many of these talented athletes also excel academically, regularly earning accolades for being scholar athletes. Section IV - Fine Arts Programs and Electives

Like the athletics department, Northlake's Fine Arts programs are thriving! Students are introduced to the arts in the early elementary grade levels, and have the opportunity to explore music, art, and theater in more depth during their junior high and high school years.

Elementary electives for all students include music, art, library, PE, and STEM. Beginning in sixth grade, students may join band as an elective.

Secondary students are encouraged to explore their God-given interests and talents through a variety of fine arts electives, including band, Magnify Vocal Ensemble, Praise Team, art, and theater. Please refer to the secondary course catalog for details on elective availability at each grade level, or contact the secondary office at 985-635-0200 with any questions.
